Jerusalem, Israel - April 21, 2025 - 23 Nisan 5785 - President Isaac Herzog received the Diplomatic Credentials of seven new Ambassadors to Israel, including U.S. Ambassador Michael Dale Huckabee at Beit Hanasi in Jerusalem, Israel.
President Herzog and Ambassador Huckabee delivered statements to the media. A section of the Ambassador's remarks is shared here:
President Herzog to new U.S. Ambassador Huckabee: “We share our heartbreak and our absolute resolve to see every last hostage freed from the Hamas dungeons and returned to their loved ones. Immediately. Every last one. I thank you for this allegiance of heart, and, no less, for your commitment to action. Nothing is more urgent.”
U.S. Ambassador Huckabee: “We care deeply, Mr. President, about the threats that face Israel, because those are also the threats that face our country. I never want Americans to think that we Americans are not greatly benefited by our partnership with our ally Israel. We benefit dramatically in the sharing of intelligence, the sharing of technology, and the sharing of agricultural innovation, in which Israel has led the world.”
New ambassadors submitted their diplomatic credentials with the regular ceremonial procedures of the raising of their countries' flag with the Israeli Police Band playing their anthem, meeting with the President briefly after presenting their credentials, and signing the official guest book.
Ambassador Aileen S. Mendiola of the Philippines wrote the longest message in the guest book today. She told BJL that her stunning dress was hand-made from natural fibers by women.
The other Ambassadors today - Belarus, H.E. Mr. Yury Yaroshevich; India, H.E. Mr.Jitender Pal Singh; Dominican Republic, H.E. Mr. Olivio A. Fermin; Canada, H.E. Ms. Leslie Scanlon; and Angola, H.E. Mr. Nelson Manuel Cosme.
For the US ceremony, guests included Miriam Adelson, Mark Zell, Yael Eckstein, Paul Brody and family.
