Baltimore, MD - March 24, 2025 - Average gasoline prices in Baltimore have increased by 1.7 cents per gallon over the past week, reaching an average of $2.99 per gallon, according to GasBuddy's survey of 663 stations in the area.

Despite the rise, prices are still 53.7 cents per gallon lower than they were a year ago.

The cheapest gas station in Baltimore was priced at $2.77 per gallon yesterday, while the most expensive was $3.29 per gallon, marking a 52-cent difference. Across the state, prices ranged from $2.75 to $3.65 per gallon.

Nationally, the average price of gasoline has risen by 6.3 cents per gallon in the last week, now averaging $3.08 per gallon. This is 42.5 cents per gallon lower than the same time last year.

Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, explained the recent increase in gas prices. "For the first time in over a month, the national average price of gasoline has risen, driven by the final step in the transition to summer gasoline across wide portions of the country," he said. De Haan noted that this increase is due to seasonal changes rather than political factors or tariffs.

In neighboring areas, Maryland's average gas price is $3.00 per gallon, Washington D.C. is at $3.12 per gallon, and York has seen a rise to $3.22 per gallon.
