Baltimore, MD - Feb. 27, 2025 - The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration announced Thursday that the Interstate 695 interchange ramps will temporarily close overnight for a few weeks for guardrail installation in the Catonsville area.
Closures will begin at 9 p.m. and run until 5:00 a.m. Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, March 3.
The construction is expected to be completed by 5:00 a.m. on Friday., March 21, weather permitting, officials said via a press release.
The State Highway Administration says that drivers should plan for extra travel time on the west side of I-695.
Here's a schedule of the closures and detours that will be opening in the following order:
Mon., March 3 through Thurs., March 7
Westbound Edmondson Avenue ramp to Northbound I-695 (Beltway Inner Loop)
Detour: Southbound I-695 to MD 144 (Frederick Road), turn left onto eastbound MD 144 and turn left onto northbound I-695;
Eastbound Edmondson Avenue ramp to Northbound I-695 (Beltway Inner Loop)
Detour: Southbound I-695 to MD 144 (Frederick Road), turn left onto eastbound MD 144 and turn left onto northbound I-695
Mon., March 10 through Thurs., March 13
Southbound I-695 (Beltway Outer Loop) to Westbound US 40 (Baltimore National Pike)
Detour: Continue to southbound I-695 to Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto eastbound Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto northbound I-695 and proceed to westbound US 40
Mon., March 17 through Thurs., March 20
Westbound US 40 to Northbound I-695 (Beltway Inner Loop)
Detour: Southbound I-695 to Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto eastbound Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto northbound I-695
Eastbound US 40 to Northbound I-695 (Beltway Inner Loop)
Detour: Southbound I-695 to Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto eastbound Edmondson Avenue, turn left onto northbound I-695
