Baltimore, MD - Jan. 11, 2025  - The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) is working diligently to address outstanding trash and recycling collections impacted by this week’s snowstorm. Some residential alleys remain covered in ice, making them impassable and unsafe for solid waste crews.

As they continue to navigate inclement weather conditions, DPW emphasizes that the safety of our workers is paramount. Crews have been advised to report icy alleys to their supervisors, as they continue to navigate inclement conditions. DPW crews are keeping track of reported locations and coordinating with salt trucks to address icy conditions. Once alleys are deemed safe, collections will resume.

Residents are encouraged to call 311 to:

Residents are asked to keep their trash and recycling in place until collections can be safely completed. Trash and recycling must be properly secured in containers with tight-fitting lids
