Terror Attack Near Ariel Leaves Nine Wounded, Including Three in Serious Condition

Ariel, Israel - Nov. 29, 2024 - A terrorist attack occurred near the Giti Avisar junction in the West Bank on Friday, targeting a bus and leaving nine individuals wounded. United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) teams responded swiftly to the scene, providing critical medical assistance to the injured.

According to MDA EMT Itamar Hakhamov, emergency teams arrived to find multiple victims near the bus. "We saw three injured individuals lying near the bus, fully conscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. We immediately provided them with initial medical treatment at the scene, including stopping bleeding and bandaging, before evacuating them to the hospital in stable condition. Other casualties with glass shrapnel wounds were also treated and evacuated to the hospital in mild condition," Hakhamov recounted.

The Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus later reported that one of the seriously injured individuals had deteriorated to critical condition.

Details of the Attack
The incident unfolded when a terrorist opened fire at a bus in the Samaria Region, causing chaos and injuring passengers. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that the perpetrator had been apprehended. Initial reports suggested the possibility of a second terrorist, but after extensive searches and roadblocks, the IDF ruled out the involvement of another attacker.

Israeli media identified the terrorist as 46-year-old Samer Hussain from the village of Einabus in the Nablus area of the West Bank.

Emergency Response and Community Impact
United Hatzalah responders noted that, in addition to the physical injuries, many individuals at the scene suffered from trauma due to the attack. "We provided aid to people suffering from trauma resulting from the incident," said United Hatzalah EMTs.
