Berlin, Germany - Nov. 19, 2024 - (JPost) Berlin Police Chief Barbara Slowik has advised Jews to exercise caution in certain areas of the city due to rising antisemitism, particularly following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel. She noted increased tensions in neighborhoods with predominantly Arab-descended residents, where antisemitism is more openly expressed. Since the attack, Berlin police have initiated over 6,200 investigations related to antisemitism, including hate speech, property damage, and propaganda offenses. Slowik acknowledged the community's concerns and emphasized the importance of vigilance in public spaces.
