As of 6 p.m. Sunday, there were a number of street closures in the area that remained closed Monday morning, including:
According to the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, the Baltimore City Circuit Court is closed Monday due to Sunday's fire.
According to the mayor's office, the Cummings-MECU building also remains without power. These city buildings will be closed to the public and employees Monday. Impacted employees with the ability to telework are encouraged to do so.
According to the Baltimore City Office of Emergency Management, the power outage had impacted the University of Maryland Midtown Hospital, which was operating on generator power.
At noon Sunday, BGE announced that about 2,200 customers were without power in the area of the 300 block of North Charles Street. BGE said its crews had to de-energize the electric system for safety due to the fire.
As of 10 p.m. Sunday, BGE announced it has restored power to the majority of customers following the de-energizing of the electric system.
BGE released the following update to 11 News:
"BGE crews continue to perform the necessary repairs to restore customers who remain without power and anticipates the balance of customers will be restored in stages overnight and into Monday morning.
"Customers may experience additional temporary service interruptions during the restoration process. BGE appreciates our customers' patience during this work and the coordinated efforts with Baltimore City to ensure it is performed safely and as quickly as possible."
