Jerusalem, Israel - Sept. 17, 2024 - "Tragic Awakening" is a documentary exploring the roots of antisemitism and focusing on the world's oldest hatred which is appearing globally after October 7.
The premier showing in Israel was held at the Jerusalem Cinema City on September 16, 2024.
Where does the hatred come from? Can it be harnessed into a force for good?
Rabbi Raphel Shore, Rabbi Shalom Schwartz, and Rabbi Ken Spiro are featured in the film with Rawan Osman. Her story of going from being educated to hate Jews in Arab countries to wanting to convert to Judaism is fascinating.
Osman was on hand before the premier showing and was one of the speakers.. She stayed to answer questions on a panel afterward with Rabbi Schwartz and Fleur Hassan Nahoum.
Rabbi Shore is currently in the US promoting the documentary. The non-profit Aseret Movement is involved with production.
