An Israeli woman suffered light injuries in a stabbing attack at the "tunnel checkpoint" near Jerusalem.

The terrorist was neutralized, and later reports said that he had been eliminated.

He was later identified as Mohammed Rizak Hamash, a 27-year-old resident of Dheisha near Bethlehem.

MDA Paramedic Nur Hajajra and Medicycle Unit EMT Yaakov Grinwald: "We arrived on scene and found the casualty fully conscious with a minor injury. We provided medical treatment and evacuated her to hospital in a MICU, fully conscious and in mild condition."

Yoni Ohayon, a United Hatzalah volunteer EMT, reported: "I was traveling on the Tunnels Road when I received a report from United Hatzalah's dispatch center about an attack at the Tunnels Checkpoint. I quickly arrived at the scene and provided initial medical assistance to a young woman of about 20 years old, who was evacuated to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem. Her condition at this stage is defined as light and stable."

Initial investigations show that the terrorist disembarked from a bus, together with other passengers, and attacked a 20-year-old officer, stabbing her with a screwdriver in her hand and back as she fought back. The attack caused light wounds.

In addition to the screwdriver, police officers searching the terrorist found him to be in possession of a knife as well as other items.

The checkpoint has been closed in both directions until the completion of the investigative activities.
