UAVs launched by Hezbollah terrorists exploded early Tuesday afternoon in various locations in northern Israel.
A man of about 30 was critically injured in the explosions, and three others suffered light to moderate injuries. Two other victims suffered shock.
First responders called to the scenes are treating the wounded, and evacuated them to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya.
According to one report, at least three UAVs infiltrated Israel. One of them was intercepted, while a second exploded near Mazra'a. Hezbollah took responsibility for the launches, saying, "We launched a stream of UAVs and attacked a Golani Brigade command center and an Egoz Unit base in the Shraga Camp near occupied Acre (Akko)."
Prior to the explosion, a multitude of sirens sounded, warning of hostile aircraft infiltrations across the Galilee. Immediately afterwards, at least two UAVs were identified crossing from Lebanon and exploding in Israeli territory.
Magen David Adom (MDA) paramedics evacuated to the hospital a woman of about 30, who suffered light to moderate injuries, and a man of the same age with severe injuries.
MDA paramedic Roi Vishna and senior EMT Noam Levi recalled: "We saw the male unconscious in the car with a severe head injury from shrapnel. A female who was fully conscious with shrapnel injuries to her lower limbs was in a parking lot nearby. We treated the male including ventilating him and providing medications, and evacuated him by MICU in very serious condition to hospital. The female casualty was evacuated in mild to moderate condition."
Yoni Toledano, a United Hatzalah volunteer EMT who was among the first to arrive at the scene, reported: "I was driving and people signaled me to stop because there was a car got into an accident, apparently as a result of shrapnel impact. Using my United Hatzalah medical kit, I immediately attended to the driver. He showed signs of shrapnel wounds on both his body and vehicle. I focused on stopping the bleeding and applying initial bandages. The victim was subsequently rushed to Nahariya Hospital in critical condition."
The Galilee Medical Center reported the arrival of seven victims following the UAV explosions.
"One of the victims, who arrived with shrapnel wounds, is in critical condition and undergoing treatment in the trauma room. The other victims suffered light injuries - including two who suffered shock," the hospital said.
The Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen reported that three UAVs, not two, crossed into Israeli territory.
The IDF clarified: "Following the sirens that sounded over the past hour in northern Israel, a number of hostile UAVs were identified crossing from Lebanon. One of the UAVs was intercepted. Several civilians were injured to the south of Nahariya during the incident."
"Rocket and missile sirens were sounded following the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception."
