Baltimore, MD - Feb. 11, 2024 - As lawmakers debate over juvenile crime laws during this legislative session, juvenile crime continues to run rampant on the streets.
In less than an hour, two robberies involving juveniles took place in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
In Pigtown, around 7:30 Saturday night, a man was inside a market in the 800 block of Washington Blvd, when he was approached by at least eight juveniles.
Baltimore Police arrested three teens, a 13-year-old and two 16-year-olds.
The youngest suspect in that robbery was just 10 years old according to Baltimore Police.
About an hour later, just after 8:30, a woman was robbed just outside the Towson Town Center.
Baltimore Police confirmed to Fox45 that the suspects were four juveniles.
Fox45 spoke with Liz, who lives in Towson.
“It’s not an easy thing to know that in my neighborhood that this kind of thing is happening, when we are out and about just doing our business," said Liz.
Liz was at the mall just an hour before the robbery happened.
“It’s very upsetting. As I understand it, it was a group of youth," said Liz.
Fox45 reached out to Baltimore County Police for details about the robbery near the town center.
Baltimore County Police responded with the following; "The persons involved in the incident in Towson last night were juveniles and we are not able to release any further information due to their age."
