Flood Watch in Effect from Friday Evening Through Late Friday Night

Baltimore, MD – Jan. 11, 2024 - A Flood Watch has been issued for various parts of Maryland including Baltimore from Friday evening to late Friday night.

What to Expect:

• There is a possibility of flooding due to heavy rainfall.
• Moderate to heavy rain is expected late Friday afternoon and evening before tapering off overnight.
• Rainfall amounts of around three-quarters of an inch to an inch and a half are likely, with some areas possibly receiving up to 2 inches.
• Most of the rain will fall within a three to six-hour period on Friday evening.
• The heavy rain, combined with already saturated soil, may lead to excess runoff, causing flooding in streams, creeks, and low-lying areas, including urban areas.
