Baltimore, MD - Jan. 5, 2024:

Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you in well in the midst of these trying times for Am Yisroel and Eretz Yisroel. The Associated in conjunction with the JCC is hosting a Havdalah program this coming Motzaei Shabbos, Jan. 6, 2024, for the purpose of bringing our community together and fostering bonds of achdus in these challenging times. The coordinators of this event have worked hard to ensure the program will be meaningful, uplifting, and religiously respectful of all segments of our community.

There will be words of introduction by Linda Elman, a beautiful Carlebach Havdalah led by our own, Eli Cohen, Moishe Abramson, and Zevi Daniel, and I have been asked to share a few words of introduction to highlight the power of Havdalah. Rabbi Andy Busch from Baltimore Hebrew Congregation will share insights and highlights from the Associated Mission to Israel, in addition to other speakers who will help to foster the feeling of unity and power of our people. The information and link to register is contained in the flyer and link below.

Achdus is something we value but is often hard to achieve. One of the bright lights in the midst of the sadness and loss has been the overwhelming feeling of love, unity, and connection with our fellow Jews. This coming Motzai Shabbos, on the eve of the 3-month anniversary of the attacks which have shattered our hearts in a million pieces, let’s come together, begin a new week together, draw strength from one another, and show our greater community the power of a unified Jewish nation.

I look forward to seeing you on Motzai Shabbos.

Please join us for a joyful night of Jewish pride and purpose, almost 90 days since the horrific attack on Israel.

October 7, 2023 will forever be known as one of the darkest days in Israeli and Jewish history. At the same time, there is a beautiful truth emerging – Jewish people want to connect and live Jewish loudly.

Just like a Havdalah* candle is braided together with multiple strands, we will unite as Jewish Baltimore for a community-wide Havdalah experience with music by Acoustic Soul.

Light Kosher refreshments provided.
