Baltimore, MD - Dec. 4, 2023 - Here is the resolution that FAILED on the city council floor this evening.
The resolution called for two things:
1. Condemn Hamas Terrorists who committed the worst terrorist attack in Israel’s history, where over 1,200 innocent children, women, and men were brutally murdered for being Jewish
2. Condemn Antisemitism.
In contrast, below is a previous resolution that I co-sponsored and that passed unanimously through the city council condemning the worst terrorist attack in New Zealand’s history, where 50 Muslims were murdered for being Muslim.
As you can see, the resolutions are identical. The only difference is, this time, it was Jews who were being slaughtered.
THE DOUBLE STANDARD is something Jewish people are all too familiar with, and I, unfortunately, witnessed it tonight. The difference between when my grandparents lived the double standard and now is I had the ability to call it out and did so immediately.
Shame on Councilmembers Ryan Dorsey, Odette Ramos, Phylicia Porter and Kris Burnett for not standing against terrorism and antisemitism
