Border Police officer Sergeant Ross Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, a'h, H'yd, who was wounded in a terrorist attack in Jerusalem this morning, has died of her wounds, the police announced.

Lubin was a lone soldier who immigrated to Israel in August 2021 from the US. She lived in Kibbutz Sa’ad in southern Israel and was 20 years old.

The investigation into the attack revealed that shortly after 8 am, the 16-year-old attacker ran at the police officers standing outside the Shalem police station with a knife and stabbed Sgt. Lubin multiple times. A male officer was also wounded in the attack.

Within seconds, the surrounding officers shot and killed the terrorist, but Sgt. Lubin had already been mortally wounded.

MDA paramedic Nadav Tayeb said, "When we arrived on scene we found an unconscious approximately 20-year-old female and a 20-year-old male who was walking. We immediately began treating them and evacuated them to the nearby Mount Scopus Hospital, with the female in critical condition and the male in mild condition."

The Old City's gates were closed following the attack.

In the last few hours, police arrested a number of additional suspects, relatives of the terrorist, in order to investigate their connection to the terrorist and the attack. The suspects were taken to the Jerusalem District Court for questioning.
