Baltimore, MD - Oct. 3, 2023 - This is not a scene one witnesses every day. Several city agencies convened for an emergency meeting on the street. The meeting tonight was initiated by Councilman Isaac "Yitzy" Schleifer, specifically to devise a strategy to apprehend the local arsonist that has been plaguing the Fallstaff neighborhood in recent weeks. Senior officials and investigators from both the Fire and Police Departments assembled to discuss the incidents, the emerging pattern, and to strategize their next steps. When BJL asked about the unusual location of the meeting, Councilman Schleifer remarked, “I want our public safety agencies to experience the same vulnerability and discomfort the community feels due to these recent arsons.
