Baltimore, MD - Sept. 10, 2023 - With Rosh Hashanah right around the corner, excitement and anticipation are building up in the community. What better way to channel this energy than through an event that offers a blend of spirituality, social connection, and yes, a whole lot of fun? This year, Chabad of Park Heights and the Jewish Community Center (JCC - Park Heights) are delighted to co-host a Pre-Rosh Hashanah Challah Bake. Scheduled for tomorrow, September 11 at 7 pm, this enriching evening is brought to life by community pillars Chomi Raices of Chabad and Laura Kurcfeld of the JCC. Adding an extra layer of meaning to the occasion, Master Challah Baker and cookbook author Rochie Pinson will be our special guest for the evening.
Rochie Pinson, renowned for her insightful and enlightening writings on Jewish life, will lead the event. Her words promise to add a touch of wisdom and spiritual richness, elevating the seemingly simple act of making challah into an occasion of deeper significance as we approach the High Holidays.
Challah-making offers a unique space where various facets of Jewish life come together. The Challah Bake is designed not just as a spiritual exercise or a social gathering, but also as a fun, uplifting experience. Whether you're sharing techniques, swapping stories, or laughing over a particularly tricky braid, the act of making challah becomes an engaging community activity that’s also a whole lot of fun. Rochie will also sign her cookbooks, which are available for pre-order at discounted prices and for sale at the event.
