An Unprecedented Tribute: Minute of Silence Observed at Celebrate Israel Parade in Honor of Israel's Fallen and Victims of Anti-Semitic Terror

Initiated by the World Zionist Organization and the Israeli Ministry of Defense - * A minute of silence for those who fell in battle defending the State of Israel and  for victims of terror against Jews was observed on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue*

For the first time in the history of the Celebrate Israel Parade in support of Israel in New York, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the  those who fell in battle defending the State of Israel and  for the victims of terror against  Jews in Israel and in the Diaspora.

The traditional Celebrate  Israel Parade in New York began this year with a minute's silence observed by  the thousands of marchers, in memory of those who fell in battle defending the State of Israel and  for those victims of terror on the initiative of the World Zionist Organization and the Division for  Commemoration,Family and Heritage at the Israeli Ministry of Defense.

The parade was held on  Sunday June,4th on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue in New York  attended by thousands of marchers from Jewish organizations from North America, Israel and Worldwide, including Israeli Cabinet  Ministers, members of  Knesset (Israel's Parliament) and  high ranking US  government officials.

As was reported previously,  three weeks ago the Israeli Government passed a decision, on the initiative of the chairman of the World Zionist Organization Yaakov Hagoel,to commemorate  Jews in the Diaspora who were victims of terror and murdered in hostilities of an anti-Semitic nature outside of Israel.
