Baltimore, MD - Feb. 23, 2023 - Antisemitism and hate will not win the day in Baltimore. In a regionally cooperative effort coordinated by Baltimore City Councilman Isaac "Yitzy" Schleifer, Baltimore City Sheriff Sam Cogen and Baltimore County Councilman Izzy Patoka there will be an increased police presence in the Jewish communities of both Baltimore City and County. This is in response to the recent anti-Jewish rhetoric that is being put forward by national hate groups. There will be additional deployments of Baltimore County officers, Baltimore City officers as well as the strategic assignment of deputy sheriff personnel from Baltimore City in sensitive locations throughout the region where members of our community live, shop and pray. This will begin on Thursday evening and continue throughout the weekend.
