Israel's President, Isaac Herzog, called for greater dialogue between the Right and Left, warning of a major social crisis, reports Arutz-7. He urged the government and the Opposition to compromise on the proposed judicial reform plan. Herzog acknowledged the need for judicial reform, while also calling for greater ethnic diversity in the judiciary. His address came hours after the Knesset debated the Netanyahu government's planned judicial reform plan, which would include an amendment to Israel's Basic Laws, explicitly prohibiting the Supreme Court from applying judicial review to Basic Laws. Herzog called on the government to work towards reaching a compromise with the Opposition, enabling passage of a more moderate reform plan.
