It was two years ago this week when Baltimore welcomed Mayor Brandon Scott and a whole new crime-fighting plan.

"I will reduce homicides by 15% each year of my term and getting us below 300 homicides my first year," vowed the new Mayor.

However, Scott's first two years in office have seen the homicide rate soar to above the 300 mark.

"We are talking about a disease of violence that's existed for over 60 years and the people want it handled the right way," said Scott.

The mayor's 5-year crime plan has focused on removing illegal guns from the streets and expanding community violence intervention programs like Safe Streets.

"I have not talked to anyone in this city that feels they're a little bit safer," said community activist Kinji Scott.
