An attempted terrorist stabbing attack was foiled in the Gush Etzion region south of Jerusalem Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at the Al Aroub Junction, when a female Palestinian Arab terrorist attempted to stab Israeli security personnel.
According to a preliminary investigation by the army, the terrorist approached an IDF soldier, who was assigned to provide security on Route 60, while brandishing a knife.
Israeli soldiers responded by opening fire on the terrorist, neutralizing her.
The terrorist was seriously injured, and later succumbed to her injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
