Menachem Begin Symposium Held In Jerusalem (Photo Essay)

Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 14, 2022  - The Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, Israel, held its annual event remembering former Prime Minister Menachem Begin on March 13-14, 2022. Last year the event was only online, this year a live option was also available. 

The in-person conference, over the two days, at the Begin Center, discussed Begin’s guiding principles in today’s reality. Guest speakers included former US Senator Joe Lieberman, who delivered the opening keynote address on Sunday evening. Writer Gil Troy shared the stage with JNS CEO Alex Traiman in the evening program.

Natan Sharansky and Dan Meirdor were the concluding speakers late on Monday afternoon. An impressive list of Israeli government ministers and public figures past and present, journalists, and academics shared various aspects of Begin's life and legacy. Jerusalem Post Editor-in-Chief Yaakov Katz spoke on the prospects of the future in the context of previous Israeli military actions with Begin Heritage Fellow Paul Gross.
