Memorial Set For Firefighters Killed In Rowhome Fire

A memorial has been scheduled Wednesday for the three Baltimore City firefighters who died while battling a rowhome fire in West Baltimore.

In a tweet, the Baltimore Firefighters IAFF Local 734 announced the memorial for the three firefighters would take place at the Baltimore Convention Center at a time to be determined.

Afterwards, all three members will be transported to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.

Visitation information will be announced tomorrow.

After the memorial service, a procession will take the bodies of Lt. Paul Butrim, firefighter/paramedic Kelsey Sadler and EMT/firefighter Kenny Lacayo.to Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens for burial.

The union said visitation information would be announced on Friday. There are also plans for a wake at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

The three firefighters were killed Monday in a vacant rowhome fire on South Stricker Street in west Baltimore. The building had partially collapsed and trapped the firefighters.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On Thursday, the Baltimore Fire Department promoted Sadler posthumously from acting lieutenant to lieutenant.
