Dear Friend,

Welcome back to my legislative updates! The 444th Legislative Session has begun, and we have hit the ground running working for all Marylanders under the leadership of the esteemed Speaker, Adrienne A. Jones!

 Committee Assignment

I continue to be assigned to the prestigious Ways & Means Committee, and I am a member of the Local Revenues and Racing & Gaming subcommittees.  The Ways & Means committee spends a significant amount of time working on legislation that affects education, election law, local and state revenues, and racing and gaming.

As you are aware, the Pimlico Race Course is in our district, District 41, and I look forward to continuing to advocate for the redevelopment and success of Pimlico in my committee so Baltimore and the entire State of Maryland can benefit.

Stay up to Date with the MGA

Our work during session moves at a very fast pace, so if you’re interested in having instant updates, please check out the Maryland General Assembly website daily to see the work we are accomplishing by clicking here

Bond Bills

As your representative, I have worked to secure millions of dollars in bond bills to enhance our district and support our constituents.  I look forward to continuing advocating for my constituents this session to ensure we are successful in awarding bond bills again for many in District 41.

Delegate Attar's College Scholarship Program

My 2022 Delegate Scholarship is back! I have been fortunate to be able to award hundreds of students in my district with college scholarships.

Are you a resident of Maryland’s 41st Legislative District?  If you are not sure, click here to find out.

Are you attending a Maryland College or University in the fall?

If the answer to both questions is yes, do not miss this opportunity to apply for my 2022-2023 college scholarship.  Click here for the application and please be sure to read all the instructions before completing the application.

As someone who worked full time during college and law school and is still left with a significant amount of student loans, I understand how difficult paying for schooling can be, and I want to be sure to help in any way possible.

The deadline to apply for the 2022-2023 school year is April 30, 2022.  I look forward to awarding scholarships to my constituents again this year.

Community Safety Grants

Ensuring our communities are safe for everyone continues to be a top priority of mine.  I will continue to fight to ensure we can all live safely in our own homes and communities.

Do you have a non-profit that is in good standing with the IRS and with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation?  If so, click here to apply for two new community safety grants. Please note that the deadlines to file the applications are 1/31/2022 and 2/9/2022.

COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic is still with us, and I am continuing to advocate for resources for us all.  The United States Postal Service is delivering one shipment of four at-home COVID-19 tests per residential address for those who request shipment.  Please click here to order your COVID-19 tests free of charge.

Constituent Assistance & Keep in Touch

Throughout the interim, many constituents have reached out to me for assistance and I have been able to help so many of you.  Although session has begun, I am still here to help all my constituents, so please continue to reach out to me for assistance.  My email is dalya.attar@house.state.md.us.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for allowing me to represent you and I look forward to continuing working hard this session on behalf of all Marylanders.

Sincerely,

Dalya Attar
