Maj. Gen. Amikam Nurkin meets with Emirati, Jordanian counterparts at Dubai Air Show

Israeli Air Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Amikam Norkin was in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for his first official visit, where he met with his Emirati and Jordanian counterparts at the Dubai Air Show.

Norkin attended the defense exhibition at the Dubai Air Show and participated in the Dubai International Air Chiefs Conference.

He was pictured with UAE Air Force Chief Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Nasser Mohammed al-Alawi, Royal Jordanian Air Force Commander Brig. Gen. Mohammad Fathi Hiyasat and Lt. Gen. Ingo Gerhartz, chief of the German Air Force.

Al-Alawi was in Israel in October for the multinational "Blue Flag" aerial exercise.

Although the UAE’s forces did not actually take part in the drill, al-Alawi was welcomed by Israel’s military for his first official visit since the Abraham Accords normalized ties between the two nations.

"This visit indicates the continued development and strengthening of the relationship between the IDF and foreign armies, at the national and strategic level, as well as an example of the growing cooperation between them in the Middle East," the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said in a statement.
