A public transportation route was opened in Jerusalem

The momentum for the development of public transportation in Jerusalem continues. This week, a public transportation route was opened for traffic on the Yermiyahu, one of the main transportation arteries in Jerusalem. The work on the project lasted about two years with a budget of about NIS 50 million.

The Yerumiyahu Community Center, promoted by the Jerusalem Municipality and the Ministry of Transportation through the Transportation Master Plan team and the Moriah Company, is part of Jerusalem's new public transportation system in the north of the city, which includes the light rail green line, which is expected to connect to the Community Center route.

In addition, Yermiyahu joins the new public transportation routes promoted throughout Jerusalem, including the "Begin Road" public transportation route, the entrance to the city, and the Sderot Shazar.

It should be noted that the new highway is a continuation of the recently opened "Entrance to the City" highway, from a roundabout and passing through the new Sakharov interchange and Weizmann Boulevard near the String Bridge to Yerumiyahu Street.

Later, the public transportation routes to Har Hotzvim will be completed, thus creating a traffic sequence for public transportation in the capital, from the entrance to the city to Har Hotzvim.

Special emphasis was placed on maintaining the safety of pedestrians, using a number of safety measures: maintaining a wide field of vision at intersections, crossings, and traffic areas, means of slowing traffic toward crossings, and fencing roads.

In addition, in addition to the construction were infrastructure development work, asphalt paving, construction of new sidewalks, installation of new lighting, improved accessibility, landscape development, and installation of street furniture.

Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion: "We are on the right path. The opening of the public transportation route is another step in developing the city for future challenges, infrastructure development, and advanced transportation. We are working to quickly complete the projects that are in progress for all of us. "
