'The agreement allows free movement between Israel and the Emirates, without isolation or bureaucracy'

Israel and the United Arab Emirates signed a mutual recognition agreement for their coronavirus vaccination certificate and health pass, Israel's Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz announced Sunday.

"I was happy to sign this morning with the Health Minister of the United Arab Emirates, an agreement for a green passage between the two countries," Horowitz said on his Twitter account.

"The agreement allows free movement between Israel and the Emirates and mutual recognition of vaccination certificates and green passports, without isolation or bureaucracy," he said.

A plan to reopen Israel's borders to tourists with a full vaccination schedule will be in effect from November 1.

During their videoconference on Sunday, Nitzan Horowitz and his Emirati counterpart, Abdoul Rahman Ben Mohammed Al Owais, congratulated each other and underlined "the cooperation which is being woven between the countries, in many fields, and that of health in particular."

They also agreed to meet "as soon as possible" to promote "common actions" and strengthen ties between the two countries.
