The diplomats will first convene in separate bilateral meetings and then in a trilateral setting

Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid will meet with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and the United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Washington later this week, the US State Department said Saturday.

The diplomats will first convene in separate bilateral meetings and then in a trilateral setting, according to the press release.

They will "discuss progress made since the signing of the Abraham Accords last year, future opportunities for collaboration, and bilateral issues including regional security and stability."

The United Arab Emirates last year became the first Arab state to normalize relations with Israel since Egypt and Jordan decades earlier, with Bahrain and Morocco following suit soon afterward.

Biden has backed the deals since taking office in January, and senior aides have said they were working to get additional Arab countries to normalize relations with Israel.
