'Second dose provides optimal protection to those patients infected between doses'
A new Israeli study finds that a second vaccine dose should be administered to Covid-19 patients who were infected with the virus shortly after receiving the first dose.
The joint study from the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine of Bar-Ilan University and Ziv Medical Center was published in the journal Epidemiology & Infection.
The researchers tracked a group of 541 Ziv Medical Center health care workers to compare the vaccine responses between those who were already infected with Covid-19 and those had not been infected.
