Israeli artillery earlier aimed at southern Lebanese targets in response to the rockets, which sparked fires
Israeli warplanes attacked southern Lebanon late Wednesday night in retaliation for rockets fired into northern Israel, according to the military.
The air strikes hit areas from which the rockets were fired, according to a statement by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), as well as the infrastructure used for terrorism.
Another site used in the past to launch terrorist attacks was also hit, the IDF said.
The statement said retaliations could intensify if the State of Israel and its citizens continue to be threatened.
Israel holds the government of Lebanon responsible for what happens in its territory.
Three rockets from southern Lebanon entered Israeli territory near Kiryat Shmona Wednesday, causing at least four injuries and sparking a fire that Israeli firefighters are trying to get under control.
The rockets sent residents into bomb shelters as air raid sirens blared in Kiryat Shmona, Kfar Giladi, and Tel Hai.
