Israel's new infection figure stands at over 3,000 for third day straight
Israeli authorities are considering a fourth corona lockdown in the coming weeks, and are likely to make a decision on the matter by the end of August.
“We do not want to reach a lockdown, but the reality could make it a necessary step,” Health Ministry Director General Professor Nachman Ash told Army Radio on Thursday.
On the same day the Ministry reported 3,421 new cases of infection recorded in the last 24 hours, the third day in a row with the figure over 3,000.
Israel has 25,463 active patients, including 241 in a serious condition, with 51 of them on ventilators. The positivity rate for screening tests currently stands at 3.28%.
