Biden: I congratulated Netanyahu on the ceasefire and stressed that the United States supports Israel's right to defend itself against Hamas rocket fire. Netanyahu expressed appreciation for American assistance in developing a system  like the  Iron Dome, that saves lives. I spoke with Netanyahu six times during the crisis in Gaza. I emphasized to Netanyahu that I am committed to helping Israel upgrade the Iron Dome and replenish its inventory.

Biden: The United States is committed to working for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip - and we will do so in full cooperation with the Palestinian Authority and not Hamas - so that Hamas does not use the money to  rearm itself once again.
