Report: Netanyahu offers Gantz to take first turn as PM in another rotational govt

Gantz is reported to have replied that such an arrangement would be 'highly improbable'

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Defense Minister Benny Gantz over the weekend to propose forming a coalition on a rotational basis under which the Blue and White chair would become head of government first, to be later replaced by Netanyahu, Israel's Channel 12 News reported on Sunday.

Gantz is reported to have replied that such an arrangement would be "highly improbable."

This comes after the failure of a similar deal, where Netanyahu was named PM and was slated to be replaced by Gantz after two years; the shaky coalition, however, collapsed shortly with Gantz never getting his turn at the premiership. Read more at i24
