New clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police broke out on Saturday night at the Damascus Gate at the entrance to Jerusalem's Old City, after a week of tensions in the capital and in the West Bank.

Clashes were reported in several places, including near the Qalandiya checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah, while "one hundred rioters threw incendiary bombs, stones and fireworks" according to a spokesperson for the Israel Border Police.

The police used riot control means to disperse the crowd, the spokesperson added.
