Jerusalem, Israel - Mar. 17, 2021 - With the lifting of restrictions in Israel from the COVID-19 closings, Yerushalayim appeared to be returning to life on Wednesday, March 17, 2021.
Museums were allowed to reopen. The Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem posted signs using images of ancient artifacts, including a mummy stating in Hebrew, "Returning to Life."
The Machane Yehudah Market was busy with pre-Pesach shoppers. Fresh garlic popular this time of year, was piled high, bought, and taken away in large over full bags. The shuk market has new signs and new ceilings with bright new lighting. New shops have opened, though some spaces are still shuttered.
Cafes are open, with on-street dining popular in the mild temperature. Business owners were smiling to be able to reopen and serve customers again.
Hotels are reopening, with international flags flying. After a year of coronavirus limitations, the mood appeared positive anticipating Pesach at the end of next week.
