'We have had contacts both at the level of intelligence and foreign ministries,' Cavusoglu cited as saying
Ankara and Cairo had established their first diplomatic contacts after years of bitter rivalry, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu revealed on Friday.
"We have had contacts both at the level of intelligence and foreign ministries with Egypt. Diplomatic-level contacts have started,” he said, as cited by the official Anadolu news agency.

The Turkish FM said that at the time, the two countries have only this much trust for each other -- something he viewed as normal given the stage of the contacts.
