Baltimore, MD, March 9, 2021 — Responding to statements by Secretary of State Antony Blinken "enthusiastically" embracing the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of Antisemitism, and State Department spokesperson Ned Price's statement that the United States "firmly opposes" an ICC investigation into the conflict between Hamas and Israel, Rabbi Pesach Lerner, President of the Coalition for Jewish Values, released the following statement:

We appreciate the State Department's firm and correct stance on Anti-Semitism, the relationship between Anti-Semitism and Anti-Israel activity, and the immediate applicability of this understanding to an ICC investigation that ventures outside the ICC's jurisdiction to target Israel unfairly. We urge the Biden Administration to maintain this outlook, and to relax sanctions against ICC officials only once they cease misusing their positions for hateful ends.
