The ruling comes after the US Supreme Court issued a preliminary injunction against the restrictions, holding that they specifically targeted houses of worship in violation of the Free Exercise Clause.
The Supreme Court kicked the lawsuit back to the lower courts, resulting in today’s permanent injunction issued by Judge Kiyo A. Matsumoto.
