Speaking to public radio Kan, Ash said that “there is a great advantage in waiting another week, with all the cost of it, in order to reopen [the economy] in a broader manner at the end of the lockdown.”

While coronavirus figures are continuing to surge despite the Jewish state entering lockdown over two weeks ago and launching a fast-paced immunization scheme more than three weeks ago, the public health official estimated that morbidity rates are expected to decrease in the coming days.

There is a “minor flattening of the [infections] curve,” he told Kan.
