US company says that Israel has secured 6 million doses, as country registers more than 7,000 new infections
Israel's Health Ministry gave its approval late on Monday to US biotech company Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine and expects to start shipping doses to the country this month.

Moderna stated that Israel has secured 6 million doses of the vaccine - according to The Times of Israel (TOI) - enough to inoculate 3 million people - given that immunization requires two separate jabs.
The announcement came as Israel, under a partial lockdown - which could shortly become a full lockdown along the lines of March's initial closure - struggles with a severe third-wave outbreak of the virus and a reported shortage of vaccine doses, even as it leads the world per capita in its vaccination campaign.
