Health officials have warned that if morbidity rates continue to rise, country could face new lockdown
Israel neared the 2,000 cases mark with 1,865 new coronavirus infections detected on Thursday, new data released by the Health Ministry Friday morning showed.
If the number of cases continues to rise, the country could head into a third nationwide lockdown -- health officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warned over the past week.

Of the 70,960 screening tests conducted, 2.7 percent tested positive.
