The increased alert, which Israel's Foreign Ministry did not give any comments on, comes in the wake of the assassination of Iran's nuclear mastermind near Tehran.
The Islamic Republic officials were quick to point at the Jewish state as the likely perpetrator behind the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh.
Fakhrizadeh was killed on Friday when traveling in his car with a security detail. The unknown assailants stopped his car by triggering an explosive in front of it and then spraying the vehicle with bullets.
Iran and its regional proxies are known to have targeted Israeli diplomatic missions and Jewish communities in response to real or alleged Israeli attacks. Read more at i24
