The Claims Conference released its first-ever 50-state survey on Holocaust knowledge among Millennials and Gen Z, which revealed some worrying findings.

The state-by-state results highlighted a deeply concerning lack of basic Holocaust knowledge, which as fewer survivors - eyewitnesses to state-sponsored annihilation - are alive to pass on their experiences first-hand, will likely diminish further over time.
The survey revealed key areas where respondents lacked awareness of historical facts; "63 percent of all national survey respondents did not know that 6 million Jews were murdered and 36 percent thought that “2 million or fewer Jews” were killed during the Holocaust," according to the report.
