The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Wednesday canceled its July 3 Star-Spangled Spectacular performance at Oregon Ridge.

The decision was reached jointly with Baltimore County officials.

“All of us are disappointed that we are not able to present the annual Star-Spangled Spectacular concert this year at Oregon Ridge,” BSO president and CEO Peter Kjome said in a statement. “We greatly value our relationship with Baltimore County and appreciate the many county residents who participate in our concerts and educational programs."

BSO canceled last year's concert due to a labor dispute. However, Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr. worked with the musicians' union to put the show on.

“We know that this was a difficult decision, but one made in the best interest of public health,” Olszewski said. “We recognize how important this tradition is to our residents and are ready to work with the BSO to explore every option in order to provide an alternative celebration as we all continue to navigate this difficult moment together.” Read more at WBAL
