First Confirmed Case Of Coronavirus In San Diego

SAN DIEGO (VINnews) — San Diego received its first confirmed case of coronavirus Monday, an official familiar with the situation confirmed to 10News.

According to the report, an adult traveller who was aboard the first flight from Wuhan, China to Miramar last Wednesday is responsible for the San Diego outbreak.

It is unclear if the traveller is a man or a woman at this time.

The individual is being treated at UC San Diego Medical Center.

The first flight carrying 167 people from China landed at Miramar last Wednesday. A second plane carrying an unknown number of people arrived at the base later in the week.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, everyone on those flights were held under quarantine for a mandatory 14 days.
