Baltimore, MD - Jan. 27, 2020 – The last time Yaakov Shwekey performed in Baltimore was the 35th annual Isaac H. Taylor Jewish Music Festival in 2010. It felt only right to usher in a new decade with the same performer that has stood the test of time and has added many new popular songs to his catalogue of impressive music. His reinvigorated performance was truly the concert of a decade and enjoyed by a sold-out auditorium of children, teens, parents, grandparents.

The event began with a beautiful VIP reception graciously sponsored by Hoffman & Co., filled to the brim with NCSY supporters, all uniting with a shared passion for Jewish outreach. The VIP reception included fantastic food, great entertainment, including a magician, and a chance for Yaakov Shwekey fans to get photos and meet the performer himself.

Just minutes before the concert began, the VIP's were ushered downstairs taking their seats among the 2000 other concert-goers in attendance. The NCSY concert was kicked off with our hilarious and poignant Master of Ceremonies, Azi Rosenbloom, as well as a tribute to the concert's benefactor, Dr. Irving Taylor. Yaakov Shwekey began his performance with a shout-out to our beloved city, Baltimore, and thus an incredible night began!

The packed house was radiating energy as Shwekey performed new and older songs, captivating all the generations in the room. Every song came with its own magical lightshow and was accompanied by an incredible performance by Zemer Orchestra.

While incredibly entertaining and enjoyable - the NCSY concert is about far more than a fun night out with great music. The concert serves as a benefit event for Atlantic Seaboard NCSY and its teens. As Baltimore teen Eli Cohen said in his video during the concert, “ NCSY has been such a positive thing in my life, it’s given me an opportunity to show and learn to love my Judaism
