NEW YORK (VosIzNeias) — After multiple Hasidic Jews were assaulted in Boro Park last Friday night in the latest episode of a long string of recent anti-Semitic incidents, New York residents were demanding action. The soft-on-crime approach perpetuated by Mayor Bill deBlasio has produced a New York where lawlessness and hate crimes run rampant, in most cases with little to no consequences.

All this might be changing shortly if incoming NYPD commissioner Dermot Shea has his way, according to a report by the New York Post.

“The Hate Crimes Task Force has been plugged in on this from the start,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea said. “We had similar incidents a month ago and want to see if they are connected.”

In the meantime, extra patrols have been set up by the NYPD. According to Chief of Department Terence Monahan, a temporary police headquarters has been set up in Brooklyn as well to help curtail this type of activity.
