For thirty-two years, Ner Tamid has been blessed with the leadership of Noa Goldman, affectionately known to the whole community as “Ms. Noa.” From envisioning a child-centered, Jewishly-stimulating, Israel-loving environment, to training teachers and nurturing each and every child – and often the entire family – in her care, Miss Noa has ensured that Ner Tamid Montessori has thrived and flourished.

Miss Noa began with one room and 23 children and over her tenure has educated upwards of thousands of children. Among those children are multiple generations of families both within the congregation and across the entire community. Her sweet demeanor and unwavering advocacy for the unique capabilities of every child are the hallmark of our school. She ascribed to the Maria Montessori philosophy and created a school with a beautiful synthesis of giving students creative choice and self-direction in their learning and sharing the beauty and richness of Torah.

It is with bittersweet emotion that we share the news that Miss Noa has announced her retirement effective at the end of the 2020 school year. We are grateful that Miss Noa has created a strong and vibrant school community which we can continue to grow and enhance.
