The office of the state fire marshal reports a bomb squad seized a second "launch tube" in a week at Baltimore Washington International Airport Thursday morning.

Around 5:20 a.m., the State Fire Marshal's Bomb Squad, the Transportation Security Administration and the Maryland Transportation Authority were called to BWI for a recovered launch tube found in the American Airlines baggage area.

The inert launch tube was empty of any explosives and was brought back by a United States Air Force sergeant as a souvenir from serving abroad.

Officials said the tube doesn't present any immediate danger; however, there is a slight chance it could contain pressurized gas. Thus, it was not allowed on the Sergeant's connecting flight.

The state fire marshal's office said the launch tube was confiscated by the bomb squad until it can be safely returned to the owner.

This is the second launch tube recovered by officials that was brought back as a souvenir by military personnel.
